I have a friend who's going through some tough times right now... you know who you are. I saw this at Lolita, and thought of you (and all of us, on our bad days.)
Saw this Ikoflex photo by Kate of For Me For You and had to post: Enter that warm fuzzy feeling I get whenever I walk into an art classroom - I've loved it since 1st grade and my first trip up the hill to the Bryn Mawr lower school art building! In 5th grade, the girls get to paint the classroom's stools, so every one was brightly colored and different. It was always a race to get your favorite when we got to class. I always tried to get my older sister's!. And our teacher, Mrs. Behm - she pushed me even as a little kid to do more and try more. Teachers really do shape who we become... I wish I could thank her personally.
And happy 125th Birthday to Bryn Mawr, the school to which I will hold more loyalty than my college, sorority or grad school (sorry guys!) But Bryn Mawr made me who I am. I'm more than proud to be an alumna!
I cannot believe this. Autistic artist Stephen Wiltshire took a 20-minute helicopter tour of New York City, and then sketched the view... entirely from memory. This is his ninth panoramic city skyline project, and apparently his interpretation of the buildings and their scale is highly accurate. Quite the photographic memory he has. Yowzah.
This is random, but I love the use of these trays as magnetic boards. It's so obstructive and cold to hang up the kind of memo board that you buy at Staples, so this is a wonderful alternative. (Originally posted at Ritzy Bee) but spotted over at Simply Seleta, who, by the way, has the CUTEST dog (an English Golden Doodle) I had to post:
Ahhhh I want one!! I love big fluffy white dogs. I also love Kevin in The Proposal who's a Samoyed puppy...
...and I'll take Ryan Reynolds, too, while we're at it. Thanks!
In case you didn't see SNL this weekend with Taylor Swift...
She's a pretty decent actress, right? Giving Kristen Stewart a run for a money, plus she doesn't quiver as much. BONUS. 12 days until New Moon, although I will NOT be attending opening night, no thanks.
Have you seen these? USPS stamps featuring scenes from the traditional Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I ordered some a few days ago, and can't wait to use them. It's one of my favorite holidays, after all...
