I'm feeling particularly inspired today, and have decided to start a piece of "chain mail!" Instructions are simply this: Pick 5 ingredients that would make your dream home complete. Here are mine...
1. Tin Kitchen Ceiling
Gorgeous, old-worldy, and intricately detailed without being gaudy... sign me up!
2. A Gigantic Porch
Most of my summer evenings during childhood were spent outside on the
porch (or in the yard.) This included our mandatory 6pm dinners every
night... which I resented at the time, but would give anything to
relive again now... isn't that how it always goes?
3. A Library
Who didn't love the library in Beauty and the Beast? I would
love to have a similar (more compact) version, complete with spiral
staircases, window seats, rolling track ladders, and tons of
books...yum!
While I don't consider clothes-whoring one of my most admirable qualities, there is no denying it. And in the interest of keeping said hobby organized and under control, a walk-in closet is a must.
5. A Movie "Theater"
This is slightly outrageous, bordering on MTV Cribs, but hey, we're dreaming big. I love movies, and especially enjoy watching them in the theater on the big screen. I'm not asking for Versailles-style molding and velvet curtains, as I would be content with a nice projector pointed at a white wall to watch the classics over and over... I can just see Cary Grant and the French Riviera in To Catch a Thief now... (hence the Photoshop-ing!)
