I stumbled across this lovely fashion blog: Phosphene and was immediately taken with several photos of the blogger herself sporting Ferragamo Vara pumps: versatile, comfortable (apparently) and timeless. Sign me up!
Some light Googling reveals they retail for $375+ (no, I would never) but that did not stop me: I snagged a pair of lightly worn, 9.5 black Varas on Ebay for $45. My grandmother is going to get a kick out of this (she owns several pairs.)
It's fate, I think. After all, I often walked past the Palazzo Spini Feroni in Florence on my way to and from class when I was on term abroad. Clearly Ferragamo wanted to be a part my life. (I kid, I kid.)
