I found this video burried in my "to post" folder! It's a shame that it took so long to post. Anyway...
As part of a much larger Robin Hood Foundation initiative, artist (and personal favorite) Maira Kalman contributed a wonderful installation to the redesigned the library at P.S. 47. The final "natural history museum-inspired" product is wonderful to say the very least.
Alongside many others throughout the city's low-income neighborhoods, this library was designed by Richard H. Lewis. Even better - every library project includes a collaboration with a New York-based artist, facilitated by Pentagram.
