happy weekend

I'm up in Charlottesville, VA visiting my grandparents. My mom, aunt and uncle also happen to be in town (with their wonderful English sheepdog, Audrey. I kind of want to dognap her.)

Sorry it was a short week on the blog (I was traveling yesterday) but here are some good things from around the blogosphere:

ONE Loving the designed tone of Brooklyn magazine TWO this cheap and chic pendant shade from Urban Outfitters ($64) THREE hi, this is the perfect shoe - for anything. FOUR a gold "nail art" pen from Top Shop - oh, the fun we could have FIVE doesn't everyone need a floral ball skirt? I think I might SIX I think these coasters were made for me, because I do - in fact - recommend gin (I'm secretly a 65-year-old woman) SEVEN these nautical earrings (and all the jewelry) from Parc Boutique (site recently redesigned by Kate of course) EIGHT if you insist, Sugar Paper... and NINE pretty sure I could flip through Geronimo's gallery forever - they know how to throw a party!

I've always been kind of obsessed with the Olsen twins since their straight-to-VHS 1990s movies (a generational thing, to be sure). But we all know that over the years these sisters and minted fashion designers actively shed their butterfly clips and platform flip flops for a more sophisticated sartorial perspective (The Row and Elizabeth & James speak for themselves). I think this particular look on Ashley is absolutely perfect for the summer workday  - plus a cardigan for the office, of course.
